What does it feel like to be intelligent but take blue-collar jobs?

I just want to highlight something about my answer that differs from the others listed above:  Unlike the vast majority of answers listed, I worked blue-collar jobs not just DURING college, but after it also.  There was a point in my life in which I felt that I was going to be building houses for the rest of my life.  I think the mind-set of
